It may be true what they are saying about dogs, but cats have a bad side in which the owners have to face. Therefore, I oppose to this proposition. Despite how loving cats have been, they have some bad traits that make them a bad choice for house pets than a dog.
The first reason
is that dogs are truly man’s best friend. According to the website, www.thespruce.com, dogs have been
domesticated for at least years now. Dogs have been the faithful companions and
loyal helpers of the human race throughout history and become their best friend.
The bond between humans and dogs are indescribable. For cats, they just
act like they don’t need you, and can’t be described as “man’s best friend”.
The second reason is that cats are harder to
train than dogs. According to the same website, cats are hard to train
especially the food-motivated cats, they just soon get sick of training
sessions and walk away, or they’ll just smack the food out of your hand and eat
it anyway. But for dogs, they really enjoy training. It seems to give them
a sense of purpose, a job, and most love to work. Plus, many dogs are
highly motivated by food and attention, they'll gladly do anything for an edible
reward.
The third reason
is that cats don't understand the word 'no'. According to the website, yp.scmp.com,
sometimes a cat can cause trouble in your home and don’t understand the word
‘no’, it’ll just go around the room while it does whatever it wants. While for
a dog, saying “No!” can have a lot of power over a dog when it's spoken in a
stern voice, then it will just stop and look at you with stress thinking what
it did is wrong. Another one is from Clarissa Fallis, and she says that using a negative punishment is a safe, effective way to develope an appropriate behavior to your dog.
Dogs have been in history
more than cats, they helped us even in the war and many other events. They are
more used to us to make it easier to train. Even though some of the dogs are
not civilized, the house dogs will always know the word ‘no’.
